Belgrade, SERBIA

We arrived in Belgrade after a 3 hour drive from Budapest. Once we left the Budapest area the roads were very quiet – and stretched out ahead of us for miles across very flat open countryside. The border crossing into Serbia was very quick and easy with hardly any queues (although there were very long queues on the other side waiting to enter Hungary (and therefore the EU).

My drive through Serbia prompted me to wonder which famous Serbians I could think of. The three that came to mind were:

Novak Djokovic (Great Tennis player who has won countless Grand Slam titles)

Nikola Tesla (Great Scientist best known for his pioneering work on the Alternating Current electricity supply system)

Slobodan Milosevic (Very bad man. Politician responsible for war crimes and ethnic cleansing).
